There is no greater satisfaction than to care for others, and our Foot Health Practitioner course gives you the opportunity to accomplish this in your own practice. The human foot is one of the most complex and neglected of body parts. Every step we take places 2.5 times our body weight on the 26 bones that make up each foot, and it has been estimated that we walk 3 times around the planet in a lifetime. The foot is highly sensitive, and like any machine part, suffers wear or damage when injured or stressed beyond its capability.
This course is made up of twelve lessons of theory training, which you complete from the comfort of your own home, and one week’s practical training, which is completed at one of our state-of-the-art Foot Health Training Centres in either Bude, Cornwall or Edgbaston, Birmingham.
We believe that students benefit more from near personal tuition. That is why your class size will not exceed 6 students. This ensures that your tutor can “get to know you”, can give you individual attention and instruction, and is available to answer any questions you may have.
If you would prefer to study the theory element of the course plus two week’s practical training, please click here.

Stonebridge’s Foot Health Practitioner course not only gives you a complete grounding in foot anatomy, care and diagnosis, but provides the information and support you need to establish a successful practice. You could set up your own clinic, work from home, or build a mobile practice visiting patients in their own or residential homes.
There are several options for setting up in practice. You may elect to establish a Domiciliary Practice, visiting clients in the comfort of their own homes. Alternatively, you might arrange to visit supermarkets and factories to look after their staff, or Nursing Homes to care for their residents.
Many choose to establish a Practice and work at home (subject to planning permission) or in rented premises, perhaps on the High Street. These options may be mixed in any combination to suit your personality, budget or local geography.
As a professional you choose the hours you wish to work and make your appointments accordingly. Full-time or Part-time, you are in control and you decide how much, or how little, you wish to work.
If you wish to increase your responsibilities and build your career, you could continue your education and training to become a chiropodist/podiatrist, earning up to £39,000+*/year.

The 12 lesson distance learning theory element of the programme can be completed entirely from the comfort of your own home without the need for you to attend the College. During this period all students are assigned a personal tutor who can be contacted via phone, e-mail or in writing.
The 5 day practical part of the course requires your attendance at a Stonebridge Clinical training Centre in either Bude, Cornwall or Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Getting the job you want is not about following rules or giving the ‘right’ interview answer. It is about presenting yourself in the most authentic way that takes care of you and the interviewers at the same time. So many people throw their chances away: they do not take enough care and interview preparation time so that the whole process is enjoyable, stimulating and informative for both parties. This course aims to show you how.
This course will consider the importance of study skills and how we can identify and enhance our current skill set. We will then take a closer look at different learning styles and how knowledge of our own preferences in this area can make our learning more effective. Finally we will look at some basic time management techniques to enable you to plan and organise your studies and stay motivated.
As we impose no time limits on you to complete your course, we also provide unlimited tutor support throughout the duration of your course. Our team of dedicated, professional tutors have a wide variety of experience and expertise, are highly knowledgeable in their respective fields, and are trained to provide high-quality distance learning support.

The course has been endorsed under the ABC Awards’ Quality Licence Scheme. This means that Stonebridge Associated Colleges have undergone an external quality check to ensure that the organisation and the courses it offers, meet certain quality criteria. The completion of this course alone does not lead to an Ofqual regulated qualification but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills towards regulated qualifications in the future. The unit summary can be used as evidence towards Recognition of Prior Learning if you wish to progress your studies in this sector. The course itself has been designed by Stonebridge Associated Colleges to meet specific learners’ or employers’ requirements. ABC Awards’ endorsement involves a robust and rigorous quality audit by external inspectors to ensure quality is consistently met.
